Supercard DStwo video player instroduction
DStwo Player is the movie play software special designed for Supercard DStwo. With a built-in CPU decoding, it can straightly play RMVB, AVI, FLV and other format video without any conversion. DStwo player alsosupports mainstream format audio play.

Video: Avi,Rm/Rmvb,Mpeg,3gp,Flv,Mov Wmv (fluently play within 480P)
Audio: mp3,wma,ape,flav,wav,aac,ogg,ra,m4a

You can define the display model and lightness. Switch the menu bar with L or R key if you like. Menus on the bottom is designed for mentioned function, you can click touch screen to reach it.. The display model contains: original, full screen and normal display. Lightness selection is special designed for DSL and DS users. For DSi users, only “Select”, “+”, “-“ key is needed to adjust the lightness. Light default time is special for music play. You can choose 10, 20, 30 seconds or lighting all time.

Play model in integral configure menu is also designed for audio play. It contains single circle, single play, circle play, sequently play, random play. English and Chines are available now, other languages are not tested. For CPU frequency, DStwo Player is different from SFC and GBA, it only has Auto and saving model for selection.

How about the effect of video play in DStwo Player? We will use 2 videos for testing. Following are the file message. Video with high resolution is named video 1, low resolution video is named video 2.

For high resolution video play in DStwo Player, the performance is not clear. Sawtooth appears in screen, even with little lag. It is clear there is a limitation of resolution in hardware. Official website suggest DStwo Player to play 640x480 pix video. As we know, the resolution of DS screen is 256x192. I believe the resolution of video should be adjusted to same as DS screen. So I do it. Check the adjusted video 2 performance.

Except video play function, DStwo Player also supports FLAC music. Though best playing effect can’t be reached, it is comfortable for DS users. Another merit of DStwo Player is the strong capacity. While playing video, users can drag the schedule strip to adjust the proceeding without any reading time.
DSTwo Player testing sum up
What ever GBA simulator or SFC simulator, or the video player, it is only the additional function of DStwo card. The configuration of DStwo brings these benefit, by which users can enjoy more happiness in spite of DS limitation.
General speaking, this DStwo Player is no bad. It is easy to play RMVB and AVI format. No need Moonshell and DPG conversion. As FLV is not optimized, I didn’t test this format.. If Supercard DStwo offers software to convert the video form, DStwo Player will be perfect.
